Sweat-Proof Makeup Tips for Humid Days Without Clogging Pores

Humid weather can turn carefully applied makeup into a shiny, patchy mess. The goal is not to block sweat completely, but to help makeup sit better and last longer without suffocating your skin.

Start with light skincare – avoid very heavy creams right before makeup on hot days. A gel-based moisturiser suited to your skin type works well. If your T-zone gets very oily, a mattifying primer there can help control shine.

Choose breathable, long-wear formulas instead of thick, full-coverage layers. Tinted moisturisers, light foundations, or spot concealing often look fresher than a heavy base that melts. Set only the areas that crease or get oily – like under eyes, around the nose and forehead – with a small amount of powder.

Blotting papers are your friend. Gently pressing them on shiny areas removes oil and sweat without disturbing layers too much. Adding more and more powder through the day can lead to caking and clogged pores.

At night, remove everything thoroughly. Double cleansing on days with heavy or long-wear makeup helps prevent breakouts and dullness.
